At just one and a half years old, Lawsyn Mayeux is one of the youngest members of our Prosper POA family. She is the sweet daughter of Officer Mayeux. Recently, little Lawsyn was diagnosed with a tumor on her tiny left kidney.
Lawsyn is currently hospitalized, with mom and dad standing strong by her side. She has been diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor, and her entire kidney needs to be removed. Her fight will include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. This will be followed by weekly hospital visits for a long time to come.
Lawsyn’s life is being greatly affected. She will never be able to play sports, among other challenges. She will face a long recovery process, while living with one kidney and the effects of chemo and radiation.
